Thurmont Green Team Tree Planting
About this event :
The Town of Thurmont and Green Team is continuing our efforts to battle the Emerald Ash Borer and preserve the ash trees in Thurmont Community Park. We have undertaken an aggressive treatment program and have successfully saved a majority of the impacted trees. Unfortunately, we have also had to remove quite a few and as all of you know, we have been planting replacement trees in the park over the last 3 years. These efforts have been quite successful and a big reason has been the volunteer support we have received from our local service organizations. This message is to solicit your help once again!!
We will be planting 21 more trees in Community Park on Saturday November 3rd, beginning at 8:30 AM. Town staff will pre-dig the holes so we will need to clean the holes out, plant the trees, and install mulch and deer protection. Please call 301-271-7313 ext. 204 if you are able to help with the tree planting! Saturday, November 3 from 8:30 -11 a.m.
